EQ Communication Skills for Couples

We all know communication is a vital nutrient in relationships, so why are so many of us living in a painful deprivation? Let me help you learn the effective tools of Non-violent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg in a compassionate and curious way. We will focus in on all four areas and create more safety and connection.

Session 1: Screen for the 4 Horseman

In our first session, we’ll explore what an areas of chaos you have as a couple. Through guided discussions and exercises, we'll identify areas of conflict and distress. This session helps establish a foundation of understanding regarding the differences between solvable and unsolvable problems.

Session 2: How to have an Observer’s Tone

We will learn the difference between observations and evaluations. We will identify parts of ourselves, and our partners, in a loving a curiuos way, who sometimes speak with a harsh or loaded tone. Who sometimes use loaded words like “always, and never.” Who build walls and turn our partners into strangers instead of friends.

Let’s ditch the blame and judgment.

Session 3: Recognizing Feelings and Needs

The fourth session focuses on understanding the underlying feelings and needs. What if you could safely say the things you long for? Couples will be guided in recognizing their own needs and those of their partner. By articulating these needs clearly, couples can move toward collaborative problem-solving,.

Session 4: Making Requests that Would Enrich Life

Go ahead, dream big. See you lover in the light again. Share a meal together in a place you have always wanted to go. Play a song that reminds you of somethig important in your past. In this 4th session, couples will learn how to make clear and constructive requests to help keep your love afloat. This session combines all the skills developed over the previous sessions, allowing partners to practice and role-play real-life scenarios.

By the end of this-session package, couples will have a solid foundation in Non-Violent Communication skills, empowering them to communicate with empathy, connect more deeply, and resolve conflicts peacefully. They will know if they are ready to join me on the second tier of my couples counseling offerings.
